Juan Lucero de Godoy, so very active before the Rebellion, returned toNew Mexico in 1693 with his third wife, Isabel (Hurtado) de Salazar, andher mother, Dona Bernardina de Salas y Trujillo. They were living on hisold property in Santa Fe right after the Reconquest, the "PuebloQuemado". He gave his age as sixty-nine in 1693. [Spanish Archives, I,No. 422] The following two years he signed two statements in which hisage was given as seventy and seventy-one. [AASF, DM, 1694, No. 8; DM1695, No. 10]. Of his four sons by either, or both, or his first twowives, three are known to have returned in 1693, Juan, Antonio, andNicolas. These had their own families.
