• Notes

  Nathan learned the trade of blacksmith and lived in Boston until he attained his majority. He then moved to Troy, New York where he was married. - There is a Nathaniel Tallman on the 1800 census, living in Duanesburgh, Albany Co., New York. - At the commencement of the War of 1812 he went to Albany and enlisted and served it's duration in Roger's Regiment of the New York Militia (Roll 204, Extract 602). - Talman, Nathan E. was listed in The Albany Directory on June 1, 1814. In 1815 he moved his family to Oswegatchie and lived there the rest of his life. - In 1840 Nathan ( N. E. Tallman ) age 80-90 appears very near Abijah ( A. Kelly ), and the Rosegrant family in the census. His wife is shown age 70-80. - Nathan E. Tallman appears on the Oswegatchie, St. Lawrence Co., New York 1850 census. He was living with the family of his son John. Nathan is shown as 70 years old, born in Massachusetts. (Image 157 of 191, Ancestry.com), p. 155b. - Nathan's grave marker reads: Nathan E.
