Notes - Abner was a ship's carpenter and a sailor for several years and served on a British vessel during the French and British War. He was severely wounded while boarding an enemy ship.
He also served as a soldier against the British in the Revolutionary War, serving 3 months with the 1st. Company of Colonel Charles Burrell's Battallion, under Captain Davod Downs.
He was taken prisoner by the British at Cedar, Canada on May 19, 1776
