Edward Watts, born C1620; died 1690.
We identify this man as the Edward Watts who left England for Virginia 11/26/1640 with William Wigg and others. In 1646 he was shown in York Co., Va. Apparently he returned temporarily to England, for he returned from Bristol, England, to Virginia in 1664 and again in 1679.
He is believed to have been the Edward Watts who deeded land in (old) Rappahannock Co., Va., 2/22/1662. (Deed Book 1656-1664, Page 344) He probably was the same Edward Watts who received a headright in New Kent Co., Va., 10/20/1687.
Edward Watts of Stafford Co., Va., with his wife, Anne Watts, were brought into Court in 1689 and fined. (Stafford County Court Book 1689-90, at page 32).
Edward Watts died in Stafford Co., Va., in 1690, and his widow, Anne Watts, administered his estate. This record appears in the old Stafford order book, but the corresponding entry in the Will Book is lost or destroyed.
