South Russell, July 20--Mrs. Janette Clintsman died Wednesday July 10, at 11:20 a.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elmer Hickok, of Russell. She was born in Edwards July 4, 1835, the daughter of William and Agnes Noble Watson. July 4, 1855 she was married to Peter Clintsman and commenced housekeeping in South Russell, NY. Thirtyeight years ago they bought the old homestead where they lived the rest of their lives. They had five children: Mrs. William Horne. She had been confined to her bed only from Sunday to Wednesday, but two years ago last April she sustained a shock from which she never fully recovered and last April she had two shocks in succession. From that time she was unable to speak and could only let her wants be known by signs. The funeral was conducted from the Adventist church in South Russell Friday, July 12, at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Mr. Thomas, the burial being in the South Russell cemetery by the side of her husband Peter Clintsman who died Feb. 8, 1899.

Mrs. Clintsman has one sister living, Mrs. Erastus Buck, of Coopersville, Mich. Her brother William Watson, died last March a this home in Cooperville, Mich. of paralysis and cancer. Her other brother, Robert, died several years ago. Her last days were soothed as mch as possible by the loving hands of her three daughters, who are left to mourn the loss of a true and loving mother. Mrs. Clintsman made a profession of religion over ten years ago during revial services in South Russell, and as long as her health permitted was faithful to attendance at religious services. She was always a faithful wife and devoted mother, giving her whole life and energy to her children and only happy when she was able to do this. All of her children and grandchildren were present at the funeral except one great grandson, Ray Cassidy, of Talcville. Mrs. Clinstman will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and neighbors where she has spend to long a life.
