  • Notes
    • Much of the information gathered in these notes is from research compiled by Jan Clink (jaclink@bellsouth.net).
Our John may be one "Johannes Clink" who shows up in the 1790 Albany Co NY census and no more. Johannes is in the same general area as these other Clinks.
According to data received from Jacob's will dated 8/16/1801, received 9/12/02, John (residence Albany Co, NY in 1801) is the known father of Jacob, David, Gideon, William, John, Catherine, Mary, & Sarah, and is believed to be the father of Stephen, James T.(Thornton?), and George as well. Stephen named a son David THORNTON Clink which connects him to Phoebe Thornton, and James and George are known brothers of Stephen. Also, in Jacob's will, he gives 3 parts of his inheritance to his sister, Catherine, after his father's death. I believe this was for the 3 minor children - Stephen, James and George, who she was to take care of until their maturity.
