    • Carl attended St. Lawrence University on a scholarship, obtained a BA degree in 1929 and his Masters degree in 1937. As an undergraduate, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, was captain of the football and wrestling teams and earned 3 letters in track. He was a member of the men's honor society as well as a social fraternity.

      After graduation Carl pursued a career in education and became Principal of 2 high schools in upstate New York communities. Carl was the Principal of the Rome (New York) Free Academy for 25 years. In addition to his membership in 6 educational associations, Carl was active in many youth organizations including the Central New York School for the Deaf.

      Carl was also a trustee of numerous groups ranging from the First Methodist Church of Rome, New York to the Lake Delta Yacht Club. Carl was active in the Rotary club and served as it's president in 1948. In addition Carl was elected to the St. Lawrence University Hall of Fame. On Oct. 11, 1946.

      Carl S. Paige, principal of Rome Free Academy, was named vice president of the New York State Public Schools Athletic Association at the annual meeting in Oneida High School.
