He was single and 25 years old at the time, and stated his birth was in March 1875, in Pennsylvania. Gordon likely learned upholstering form his father who was a saddle maker on the 1880 census. (Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, 20th Ward, Roll 1461 Book 1, Page 255a). - On the 1910 census Gorden stated he was an upholsterer in a department store, and he and Elsie had been married 6 years. Their 2 daughters also appear with them. (Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, 38th Ward, Roll 1408 Book 2, Page 178a). - Gordon died January 13, 1913.
