  Note that both Mooar & A.O. Cummins in their Cummings books, state thatshe was the daughter o f Joseph & Abiah (Hassell) Blanchard. An NEHGRarticle by J. Crawford Hartman, pub in Vol. 9 3, April 1939, pages 162-170& July 1939, pages 229-237, has disproved this. The Elizabeth Bl anchard,who was actually the daughter of Joseph & Abiah (Hassell) Blanchardmarried Jonathan C OMBS. It is Joseph Blanchard's younger brother, Thomaswho is the father of the Elizabeth Bla nchard, wife of Jonathan Cummings. Hartman cites a deed recorded in 1729 at Cambridge, which states: "fromJonathan Cummings an d wife, Elizabeth, of one half of our right in theestate of our honored father, Thomas Blanch ard."
