  Notes from the Marvin genealogy: Offices in St. Mary's included sideman in 1621, overseer in 1627, and senior warden in 1628. Settled in Hartford probably November 1635. In Hartford he was surveyor of highways in 1639 and 1647, and gate keeper in 1641. He successfully sued Matthew Beckwith for defamation of character and won 50 pounds on 24 Apr 1649. He owned land in Farmington, CT near his brother but sold it before 1653. He was one of the first settlers of Norwalk, CT in 1650. He was a deputy in 1654.
