There is a William Davis on the 1850 census age 34 (b. 1816) who may be another son of James (not proven). He stated he was born in Bath Co. He also named one son James (7) and another Lewis (9).

James is shown as a farmer age 77, born in Pennsylvania.
Phoebe is shown as the housekeeper , age 70, born in Highland Co., Virginia.
