    Don Pedro Padilla was born Mary 26, 1731 at Isleta, the single son of Diego de Padilla and María Vasquez Baca
    In 1750 he was a Las Padillas in the house of Francisco Padilla
    Married 1st January 28, 1755 at Isleta to María Victoria Duran y Chavez/Otero, single
    1768 he sold his father's estate, Rancho de los Padillas to Clemente Gutierrez.
    On February 9, 1768 he lived at San Andres in the jurisdiction of Isleta with Bernardo de Miera y Pacheco of Santa Fe, having 700 sheep and a small herd of mares on his ranch which is small owning to the proximity of Isleta on the south and the lands and house of Capt. Antonio Baca on the north. His brothers occupying the same narrow strip, registers an unsettle piece of land adjoining the tract of Salvador Jaramillo and Antonio Baca on the south and the grant of San Fernando del Rio Puerco on the west and called Cañada de los Alamos. Boundaries are on the east, the road from Zia to Laguna, which is the boundary of the said puerco grant; on the west the side of the main Ceoletta Mountain, on the north, the tracts of Salvador Jaramillo and Antonio Baca. It is four leagues in circumference.
    He married 2nd, María Rosa Baca of Pajarito on January 25, 1784 at Isleta. She was baptized February 7, 1743 at Isleta, daughter of Jose Baca and Josefa Gallego, both deceased at the time of her marriage. Her father lived at Sausal.
    In the 1790 Census, he is listed as a farmer at the 5th Plaza of Los Chavez with wife, 2 sons, 30 and 17 years of age.
    Don Pedro Padilla died February 8, 1814 at Tome, 90 years old and a resident of Tome.
    In 1802 both he and his second wife, María Rosa Baca are found at Sausal.

    Francisco Silva (de Silba) was in the Albuquerque area prior to 1730. He was born in 1699 and was married to Rossa Gertrudis de Duran y Chavez on April 24, 1729. They had six children known at present as follows: Juan Francsico Silva (de Silba) baptized in 9-10-1731; Maria Barbara Silva (de Silba) baptized 1-14-1734; Juan Jose Silva (de Silba) baptized 1-06-1736; Maria Agustina Silva (de Silba) baptized 9-09-1739; Maria Victoria Silva (de Silba) baptized l-02-1749; Ana Maria Silva (de Silba).

    From "Beyond Origins of New Mexico Families", Volume 2: Gertrudis Chavez (ONMF: 163) wife of Francisco Silva (ONMF: 289) was not a daughter of Nicolás Durán y Chavez as documented in Origins of New Mexico Families by Fray Angelico Chavez. Prior to marriage, Nicolás had a son, Juan Jose by Juana Montaño. While (he) was traveling out of New Mexico, Juana Montaño had given birth to a boy christened Nicolás and was pregnant with her third child, Gertrudis, when Nicolás return to New Mexico. Nicolás, the younger, and Gertrudis, natural children of Juana Montaño, were said to have been fathered by "a decent man named Urbán". Nicolás Durán y Chavez was forced to marry Juana Montao.

    This information comes from the testimony of Antonio Chavez, half-brother of Gertrudis Chavez, given during the pre-marital investigation of Jose Manuel Silva and María Josefa Silveria Sánchez.
