    1840 Census:
    Lloyd Kessler appears on the 1840 census as 20-29 years of age, and he was apparently the head of the household which included 2 females: the first was age 20-29 (presumably his sister Rebecca) the second was age 60-69 (presumably Rachel, his mother).
    These assumption were made based on the 1850 census where Rebecca and Rachel were living with Lloyd and his new bride.
    -
    The 1850 census of Jefferson Township, Frederick Co., Maryland, finds:
    Lloyd A. Kepler (Kessler), age 33, a Merchant, living with his new bride
    Mary, age 22,
    next door to his mother, the widowed Rachael, age 73 and sister Rebecca A., age 35.
    It was difficult to locate this record as the Surname was poorly transcribed.

    In the 1860 census in the Jefferson District of Frederick Co., Maryland (page 71), we find that he was a merchant and he had real estate valued at $700.00 and other property amounting to $5305.00. At the date of the census (July 21, 1860) the names and ages of all family members are as follows;

Charles Howard died intestate in Frederick Co., Maryland.
