  John first settled in Charlestown, Massachusetts, by 1636. He made freeman on May 2, 1638. He married Mary Carter in Massachusetts and removed to Stratford, Connecticut before 1650, where he was Deputy. The inventory of his estate shows he was a blacksmith, owned 60 books, and had land in Stratford and Derby, also mentioned are 519 pounds currency. - John was a Representative to the Connecticut General Assembly from 1669-1671. -
