Notes
[Chavez.FTW]
Andres Montoya, son of Antonio and Maria Hurtado, lived in Santa Fe until his (Antonio's) death, where he acquired considerable property. [Spanish Archives, I, Nos. 511, 526, 836, 837, 840]. He also was Alcalde Mayor of the three north Queres Pueblos in 1731-32. [Bancroft, NMO, 1732; Crespo, par. 255]. He appears to be the man who furnished the vigas and other lumber for the Santa Fe parish church in 1714 and the chapel of San Miguel in 1710. [OLC, pp. 39, 72, 74-75; Kubler, pg. 19]
Andres made his last will in 1740. After giving the names of his parents, he declared that he had ten children by his first wife, Antonio Lucero de Godoy and none by the second, Maria Sisneros.
These children were: Josefa, wife of Jose Santisteban; Manuela, late wife of Joaquin Sanchez; Andres, married to Ana Baca; Isidro, husband of Manuela Silva; Jose, married to Juana Quintana; Francisco, husband of Juana Baca; Antonio, husband of Ynez Baca; Cristobal (dead); Nicolas and Diego, both single. [Spanish Archives, I, no. 526]
Of the children just mentioned, Josefa had first married Manuel Silva in 1717, and then Santisteban in 1720; Francisco married Juana Baca, on June 14, 1733. [AASF, M-3, Sta. Fe)
Captain Andres Montoya died on August 31, 1740; his first wife had died on December 6, 1736. [AASF, B-48, Sta. Fe]
