Salvador Silva (de Silba) was from Queretaro, Mexico. We do not have anyfurther information on Salvador at this time. He had a son, AntonioSilva, (de Silba), who was born about 1670 in Queretaro, Mexico. He wasmarried in Mexico City prior to 1688 to Gregoria Ruiz. They had ninechildren known at present. The oldest, Gertrudis, was born in MexicoCity, the rest were born in New Mexico. The children are as listed:

Antonio de Silva, the son of Salvador, was a twenty-three year old nativeof Queretaro who joined the colonists of 1693. He had a round dark face,large eyes, and a sharp nose. His wife, Gregoria Ruiz, the daughter ofJuan, and born in Mexico City, was twenty-two, with a broad andpockmarked face.

Antonio first settled in Santa Cruz, where he received a grant of land,and also bought additional property between Santa Cruz and Chimayó.[Spanish Archives, I, Nos. 819, 820]. But at the turn of the century hemoved down to Bernalillo and thence to Albuquerque, where he died on May25, 1732. His widow followed on December 8, 1736. [AASF, B-2, Albuq.].
