Conrad left Rotterdam May 4th and Gravesend June 6, 1683 on the ship "America". They reached Philadelphia on October 6, 1683. Shortly afterwards, on October 24th of the same year, Pastorius founded Germantown for them, where forty-two people settled in twelve homes. Most of them were weavers, the rest were farmers and tradesmen. These were the German "Pilgrim Fathers," who sought and found freedom of worship in Pennsylvania.
Koenradt Bacher was naturalized in 1691.

The book "William Penn and the Dutch Quaker Migration to Pennsylvania" by HULL, 1970, States the following:
Four persons from Holland and a youth from some unstated place, but with a Dutch or Low German name. KOENRADT Rutter (alias Conrad Bacher) who may have gotten his name from Thomas Rutter, a bailiff and blacksmith in Germantown, to whom be was apprenticed.

Conrad was listed on the 1684 census in Germantown.

Cunrad Rutter of Germantown became a Quaker and a member of Abington Monthly Meeting, which loaned him in 1708 the sum of 4 pounds with which to but a cow.

Later Conrad appears on records living in Leacock, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, where he spent his last days.

"LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF CONRAD RUTTER"
In the name of God, Amen the 19 day of April in the year of our Lord God 1734, I Conrad Rutter of Leacock in the the County of Lancaster, Plantationer, being Old and Weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God thereafter; calling into mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament; that is to say Principally and first of all I give my soul in to the hands of God who gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors; nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God and as Touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and denge and dispose of the same in the following and form:
lmprimis: I give and bequeath to my Eldest son Andrew Rutter one milk cow and a Calf and one Horse kind along with one English shilling.
Item:I give to my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Ever one cow and one calf and one Horse kind along with one English shilling.
Item:I give to my well beloved son Peter Rutter one English shilling.
Item:I give to my well beloved son Joseph Rutter one English shilling.
Item:I give to my grandaughter Elizabeth Evers one milck cow and one calf and one feather bed and bed cloose and my wife's body cloose after her decease. I leave to the discretion of my executor to divid between my grandaughter Elizabeth Evers and Rebaca Rutter.
Item:I give to my grandchildren Peter Rutter, William Ever, Elizabeth Rutter and Henery Rutter all the movables in my House but what I excepted already or what I now will except.
Item:I give to my sons Conrad Rutter and Peter all my Coopers tools to be use of betwixt them.
Item:I give to my son Joseph Rutter my Chest.
Item:I give to my well beloved son Conrad Rutter whome I likewise constitut make and ordain my only and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament my largest iron pot and the smallest iron pot, a feather bed and the beed cloose belonging to it, the largest pewter dish and a butor beason and a table and a pair of the best sheets in the house besides what is on the beed and all the __________, a black walnut chest, all the rest of my movable goods in my house I leave to the discretion of my executor to divide amongst my four grandchildren that I have mentioned in this my last will. My Plantation and all therein and thereon I leave to my Executor but what I have already willed out of it, the paying his three brothers and sister ten pounds of it and that to be equally divided amongst them. But if so be that he cannot raise money they shall take such as he has in reference according to two reasonable men will value them to the value of their money if so be they cannot agree hem and them about the price.
I do give to my Executor Conrad Rutter two hundred acres which belongs to the Ould Plantation wherein I lived and if the return of the whole farm amounts to more that six hundred acres I give it to him; also with all the horse, mares, colts, horned cattle, sheep, and hogs and weagons and impliments of all sorts and here in one Plantation with houses, barns, and outhouses and all improvements of all sorts and one the Plantation my Executor Conrad Rutter I do order and alow to take care my wife and that she shall not see want for anything that is reasonably in power to help her during her life but fearing that their should be any mistak be it known that what I have willed bequeathed or given is still to be given out of my estate and I do hearby sternly disalow, revok and diss-null all and every other former will or testament.
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned or written.
