Have a copy of this book. approx. 12 copies printed and given to his children and passed down through the generations. Physician and inn keeper in Exeter, England, during King Jame's Rebellion. Wife Anne and only child died in England. Came to Stonington, CT, USA and married Abigail Bill. First wife and son died in England New England Genealogy and Biography Register Vol 60 page. 330 WFT Ref # 5978 Vol 2 John Udell Journal of 1859. Forward says child was a daughter. WFT Ref # 3588 Vol 7 Undated memorandum of John S. Lawrence. "He was a practicing physician residing at Stonington, CT, in the first half of the eighteenth century. Dr. Udall was a man of considerable prominence and appears to have had a large practice in eastern CT and throughout RI, extending from New London to Newport. He is said to have been born in England about 1690, to have come early to this country and to have married in Stonington, where all of his children were born and where he died in 1767. The list of his children are from an account book kept by him. The accounts in the book range from 1750 to 1767. In the records of the First Congregational Church at Stonington, CT is the following: 'Nov. 17, 1734. Mr. Lionel Udall and his wife Abigail owned the covenant and subjected themselves to ye discipline of the church and the same day their children, Anne, Abigail, and Lionel were baptized The later baptisms of Samuel, William the second, Mary and John are recorded. The entire family moved about 1772 to Vermont, where many of the name Udall, have occupied prominent positions. (John D. Champlin in New England Genealogical Register 40:330)" John S.
