I have I believe 6 land grants (I was told for participation in the war, by the dates given on them I assume it was the Mexican - American war) that are from Iowa issued to William S. Hall. They list Marion Co., Iowa City Tnsp, Iowa & Jefferson Co., Fairfield Tnsp, Iowa.

They were issued by 2 different presidents Polk & Taylor. The one from Marion county is dated 3-1-1850 & recorded in Vol. #11 Page 53, certificate # 1618. The 2 from Jefferson county are certificate #12680 dated 1-1-1847, recorded Vol. # 25, Page 467 & certificate # 10290 dated 1-1-1846 recorded Vol. # 21, Page 141.

There are 2 more that I'd have to dig up the info. on.
