• Notes

  Edward was a "Boatwright" and the immigrant ancestor of this branch of the Dorsey family, and was in the Virginia colony as early as 1636. He left Virginia and settled on the Severn in 1649 on land set aside by Governor Stone. Edward tragically drowned in the summer of 1659 off the Isle of Kent.
