Abraham Ireland came from Lisbon and settled on the hill west of Abel Holt's; He lived there until 1815, when he moved to Caanan, Me., and from there to Lincoln where he died about 1840. Two of his sons, Joel and Jonas enlisted in the war of 1812; Jonas left the town soon after the close of the war and was never heard from. Joel was wounded in his thigh which crippled him for life. He married Dorothy Francis and moved to Canton, from there he went to Byron and from there to Weld, where he died. His wife is still living at the age of 90.
