- Jonas Stevens was a soldier of the Revolution.
Jonas and Sarah, his wife, settled May, 1785, on the West shore of Pennessewassee Lake in the plantation of Rustfield, now the town of Norway, Oxford Co., Maine.
They came from Gray, Maine, and were one of the first three pioneer families of the plantation.
Sarah, their youngest daughter, was the first white child born on the plantation.
