Notes - After his Marriage to Sarah Cummings, Samuel lived on the south side of Bush Hill near his "In -Laws" home in Nottingham West (now Hudson), New Hampshire. and was assessed there from 1751 to 1773.

He later went to Swanzey, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire on horseback with his family and only a pork barrel behind him. Samuel and Sarah built a large farm homestead in Swanzey, which was still in possession of the Page family in 1978 by Kendall and Lorraine Page, and the pork barrel is said to still exist in the cellar of one George Page, a great grandson of Samuel.

In the Revolution, Samuel was a Lt. in Col. Read's NH Reg. and Swanzey Company. It is believed that he was at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Samuel lived into his 92nd. year. The will of Samuel's father Abraham, indicates that Samuel was a "Yeoman" or farmer of Nottingham West, New Hampshire (1753).

Samuel was among several othe men selected to help construct a meeting house in abt. 1766 (History of Hudson, New Hampshire, Chapter XIV, "Nottingham West Families",P. 199).
