    • Roelof Martense Schenck died prior to Aug. 3, 1705, when his will wasprobated in New York Cit y (Surrogate's Wills, Book 7, p. 309). He wasthen, perhaps, about seventy-five years of age , and was three timesmarried. He waited, apparently, to the unusual age of thirty before hema rried (in 1660) Neeltje Gerritse Van Cowenhoven, daughter of GerritWolfertse Van Cowenhoven , whose father, Wolfert, was the common ancestorin America of all the Cowenhovens and Conover s. She was nineteen years ofage, but lived only until about 1674. By her he had six children . In 1675Roelof married Annatje Pieterse Wyckoff, probably the daughter of PieterClaesen Wyck off, the first American ancestor of the Wyckoff family. Shealso lived about a dozen years, an d by her Roelof had four children. Then, on Nov. 9, 1688, Roelof married Catarina Cregier, wid ow ofChristoffel Hooglandt, Sr., who was several times a Schepen in Amsterdamand prominent i n city affairs. This Catarina was then forty-five years ofage. The ten children mentioned gre w up and married into the families ofBrinckerhoff, Voorhees, Terhune, Nevius, Hageman and Cow enhoven.(Bergen's "Early Settlers of Kings County," p. 254; Beekman's "EarlyDutch Settlers o f Monmouth," p. 11, etc.).
