  Matilda was shown as a widow in the 1870 Illinois census, living with Joseph and Alice Kelly in Algonquin, McHenry Co. - In 1880 she appears in Yuba Co., Ca., living with her daughter Sarah Gleason and family. - Stacey Flowerdew g-g-g-grand daughter of Matilda has a funeral card for Matilda which states she died July 3, 1893 at the age of 81, contrary to the State record showing her death date as July 2, 1893.
