  Military minutes of the Council of Appointment of the State of New York, 1783-1821, N.Y. State of New York, 1901-02, 3042 pgs. (p.1918). - In 1818 Robert was a lieutenant in the 108th Regiment, Jefferson Co., Infantry. - 1820 Census: Pamelia, Jefferson Co., New York. Males: 1, age 18-26 Females: 1, age <10 1, age 16<18 (b. 1802-1804) Note Abel Rice was enumerated next door. He was over 45. (Rise was Cynthia's maiden name, very likely her father). Also a Sardius Rice nearby (perhaps her brother??) - 1830 Census: Depeau, Saint Lawrence Co., New York. Males: 1, age < 5 2, age 5<10 1, age 30<40 (Robert) Females: 1, age 5<10 1, age 10<15 1, age 30<40 (Cynthia) NOTE: there was an Abel Rice age 60<70 living nearby. - Robert was appointed a Commissiner of Schools in Herman in 1830.
