    • In Susan's Obituary William is said to be of "Jackson, Michigan". There was a William Hewitt listed as a store clerk in the Oswegatchie, St. Lawrence Co., New York census. He stated he was 19, born in NY and his parents were foreign born (as his "sisters" also stated). If this William is ours he was born about 1851.

      William was found in Blackman Township, Jackson Co., Michigan, in the 1900 census. He stated he was a commercial fisherman. He was with his wife of 25 years, Harriett and their son Harry who was born in Ohio, 1878. Harry stated his occupation as druggist.

      1910 census:
      William W. Hewitt and his wife Harriet were living in Dist. 9, Jackson ward 2, Jackson Co., Michigan.
      He stated he was a salesman of tea & coffee.
      Harriet stated she had one child only (Harry).
