Henry as a passenger on the ship "Elizabeth & Ann" out of London, 1635with three other appren tices in care of Vincent Potter, Gent. He was inSalem, Massachusetts by 1648, and died in Sa lem June 6, 1701. Anotherrecord gave his death as 1696. The author of "KENNEY - KINNEY Famil y "believes "the former to be correct from my research". Henry served inKing Philip's War un der Major Sedgwick and was at St. John in 1654.

Henry Kinney, the immigrant ancestor, was born in 1624, in Holland, ofEnglish ancestry. Accor ding to some accounts, however, he was a native ofNorfolk. England, but came from Holland t o America. He was first ofRoxbury, Massachusetts, where he was apprenticed to William Park, o fRoxbury, by Vincent Potter, presumably a relative. Kinney removed thenceto Salem, Massachuse tts, about 1653. His wife Ann was admitted to theSalem church August 24, 1654. Children: John , born in January, 1651;Thomas, mentioned below; Hannah, January 2, 1658; Mary, in May, 1659; Sarah, June 20, 1661; Elizabeth, in December, 1662; Lydia, in April,1666; Henry May, 1669.
