I include Uriah here as William's potential father because I found the link to a profession of "tobacconist" intriguing, as our William was a cigar maker/tobacconist. (Confirmation of this father/son relationship is unproven at this writing 04-16-2005). There was also a tobacconist by the name of Mahlon Jones who might be related. Still looking...
This Uriah Jones served in the War of 1812, as a Private in Captain Deems' Company of the 51st. Regiment, Maryland.
