(Confirmation of this father/son relationship is unproven at this writing 04-16-2005). There was also a tobacconist by the name of Mahlon Jones who might be related. Still looking... This Uriah Jones served in the War of 1812, as a Private in Captain Deems' Company of the 51st. Regiment, Maryland. The 1827 Baltimore Directory shows Uriah Jones, Tobacconist, Paca E., N. of Lexington market, dw 57 Wagon Alley. The 1833 Baltimore Directory shows Uriah Jones, Segar & Snuff Factory, West Lexington Street opposite the market. The 1837 Baltimore Directory shows Jones Uriah, segar and snuff manufacturer, Lexington st w of... The 1842 Baltimore Directory shows Uriah Jones, Tobacconist, Louisiana st betw Paca and Greene st. The 1847-1848 Baltimore Directory shows Uriah Jones, Tobacconist, 201 Louisiana St. The 1853-1854 Baltimore Directory shows Uriah Jones, Tobacconist living at 201 Lexington. Also Philip R. Jones (Uriah's son ), Tobacconist, 6 N. Liberty, home at 201 Lexington. Uriah died in 1859.
