  Grover was a fire fighter, and it is said that one day while driving the hook and ladder portion of the fire truck, the hook and ladder flipped while responding to an emergency, injuring Grover. His injury did not end his career however he had vertigo afterwards. Grover was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, Ca. on May 07, 1952.
