  • Notes
    • Foster parents brought Quinton and his twin sister, Mary to America in the early part of the eighteenth century. The family settled in Stamford, CT and there is a record showing Quinton in Stamford. Quinton became a freeman in Danbury, Ct in September 1786. Quinton married and had six children, one son Thompson moved his family to Hinesburg, Vt in 1796 and changed their name to Partch. Quinton and other sons remained in Danbury and did not change their name. One part of the family moved to Columbus, OH (see Harriet and Edward Patch) and then went to WI. Here is where Harriet married Edward and brought the two families together.

There is a good web site for this branch of the family: http://members.cftnet.com/stevew/partch.htm

Mary Patch ch. in Butterleigh, Devon, Eng. could be Quinton's Twin.

Had a twin sister Mary. They became foster children in America. First lived in Stamford, Ct. married Mercy Ambler, had family. After Mercy died he moved to Danbury, Ct. He was a veteran of King George's War. Buried in Danbury cemetery. Emily has his will and other information. Don't know when he and the others came to Mass. The Patches were connected, probably in England. Seems he may have come from Devonshire, next to Somersetshire.
